Rebooting your VPS or Dedicated server

If you’d like to reboot your VPS or dedicated server after making any configuration changes or due to any reason, you can do that in a couple of minutes using different methods. Here’s how you do it:

Method - 1 : Using SSH

If you don’t have a control panel for your VPS, don’t worry. We’ll show you how to do it using SSH. Here’s how you do it:

  1. Firstly, access your hosting server using SSH (Click here if you don't know how to login using SSH)

  2. Once logged in, type in the command reboot now & hit Enter (If you want to do a hard server reset, you can type in the command reboot -f. This may result in loss of data)

That’s it. That’ll reboot your server in a couple of minutes. Wasn’t that super easy?

Method - 2 : Using Parallels Power Panel

If you don’t want to use SSH and don’t have a cPanel, you can reboot your server using Parallels Power Panel. Here’s how you do it:

  1. Login to your Parallels Power Panel

  2. Click on "Restart"

That’s it. That’ll should take around a couple of minutes to reboot your server. Quick-n-Easy, ain’t it?

Method - 3 : Using cPanel

If you’ve got a cPanel, you need not access your server using SSH. You can do it using WHM. Here’s how you do it:

  1. Login to your WHM panel.
  2. In the System Reboot section, Click on "Graceful Server Reboot" (If you want to do a hard server reset, you can click on "Forceful Server Reboot". This may result in loss of data)

  3. Click on "Proceed"

That’s it. It should take a couple of minutes for your server to reboot.
